While Strider was busy deep sea fishing and catching an Aku (relative to the tuna) with his classmates for 8 hrs, the boys and I went to an Air Show. The Blue Angels were at Hawaii's Kaneohe Marine Base.
The boys loved every minute. We were there from 8am to 4pm! It was quite a long day. It was worth it though. The Blue Angels were the highlight and of course saved for last.
We brought our lunch and walked around a lot. There was aircraft and military vehicles all over the place. They also had some fun kid rides.
Here is one of the jets (F18) taking off and them in the air. The boys loved following them and seeing what they would do next. their formations, speed and different maneuvers were incredible to watch.
We saw lots more too... the marines did a demo that included a big explosion. That scared the boys since we could feel the heat. We also saw aerial refueling, which was neat.
We saw several men with parachutes. The one with the American flag jumped during the National Anthem. The boys couldn't watch it all and took turns sleeping in the stroller. They also needed earplugs for the F16 because it was too loud! Strider laughed when I told him that since he rode in one before. Glad the boys and I took the time to go. We went home and enjoyed some grilled fish for dinner. :)
